Cool Girl Guide: Your Llandudno and Conwy Itinerary

Consider this a two in one – mini Welsh day trip Cool Girl Guide. I did this day trip three times this summer, therefore I feel qualified to talk about the matter.

You may have heard of Llandudno as it is believed to be the place where the real Alice from Alice in Wonderland vacationed. Whilst this is more of a myth, the town is scattered with large, unironically scary wooden statues resembling all the main characters from the fairytale. The Pier in Llandudno is gorgeous. Plenty of food stalls, little jewellery stands and a few fun fair rides. The pier is around 700m long so you also get a wonderful view out onto the water. I think the seafront in general is the best part of Llandudno, especially in sunny weather.

Something both Llandudno and Conwy have in common are brilliant charity shops. For two small Welsh towns, they both offer a selection of second hand shops. But can we take a moment to appreciate the layout of this Cancer Research in Llandudno? Talk about effective visual merchandising.

A mere 15 minute car ride away, you have Conwy. My main highlight? Dylan’s. Think Pinterest cool restaurant meets aesthetic groceries meet fancy pastries. I’m really not one to usually fall for eateries, but all three times I went to the place caught my eye. I treated myself to a sweet potato and lentil roll and ice cold raspberry lemonade. It’s one of those places where you feel in the air just how fresh the food is. 10/10. Also, they have huge meringues.

Conwy Castle is probably what the places is most known for. They began building it in 1283 under Edward I’s command of North Wales and is officially listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The castle is completely outdoors, and I think castle walls are a better name than ‘castle’ itself. Don’t get me wrong, this is very impressive. But unless you’re a history fan or a lover of castles, this may not have such a huge effect on you. So if you’re going to be near and are considering popping in, it may be a cool way to see something new. But I wouldn’t personally sacrifice too much for it.

And that just about sums it up. You can easily visit both places and make the most out of them in just one day due to their size and distance from one another. Want to read more Cool Girl Guides to places around the globe? You can find them here.

Hope this inspires your next trip,
